Description

This is a week-long case competition, where participants work as a team to tackle a challenging business case and present their solutions to a panel of judges from various consulting firms. The case competition is a great opportunity to demonstrate your problem solving and presentation skills and make connections with consulting industry professionals at the networking.

Competition Format

  • 12 teams of 4-5 contestants
  • Presentation format: 10 min presentation, 15 min Q&A period
  • Judging:
    • Preliminary round: Private presentation to a small panel of judges
    • Final round: Public presentation to all judges and audience
  • Networking reception

Important Dates

  • Application deadline: Monday, May 14th at 11:59 pm

  • Teams notified: Wednesday, May 16th, at 11:59 pm

  • Payment deadline: Thursday, May 17th, at 11:59 pm

  • Case release: Friday, May 18th, at 11:59 pm

  • Deck submission: Thursday, May 24th, at 11:59 pm

  • Case competition & Networking: Friday, May 25th, 9:00am – 5:30pm

Application

The competition will have teams of 4-5. This event is open to graduate students, MD/JD candidates or post-doctoral fellows across Canada, with the allowance of maximum one professional/MBA/undergraduate per team. If you need help in finding a team or creating your own, join our forum and connect with other GMCA members. Please submit one-page resumes for each team member in a single PDF file to applications@gmcacanada.com May 16th, 2018, 11:59pm.

If your team is selected for case competition, a ​separate link to purchase an invite-only case competition ticket will be sent out to each individual on the team. The ticket costs $120 per team and gives you access to the case competition and an exclusive networking event on May 25th.

NOTE: The case competition ticket does not include access to the two-day forum. Competing team members need to purchase a forum ticket separately.
